VirusTotal is a web service for checking files, URLs, domains, and IP addresses against security analysis sources and reviewing their reported threat context. Users can search existing reports and examine results that may include antivirus verdicts, community comments, and network information such as passive DNS. Standard submissions are stored in VirusTotal's shared corpus and are not private; keeping an analysis private requires its separate paid Private Scanning service. Advanced dataset search is available through VirusTotal Intelligence.
