Webun Plus (Kitanippon Shimbun)

Webun Plus is the Toyama news information site operated by Kitanippon Shimbun. Its local coverage is organized into politics and elections, economy and agriculture/forestry/fisheries, society and topics, regional news, culture and daily life, personnel, disaster prevention and safety, and children/newspaper-in-education. Municipality links provide routes to news from across Toyama Prefecture. The sports section covers local Toyama clubs and high-school baseball, while national and overseas news and nationwide sports have separate areas. The site also links to series and features, editorials, video news, obituaries, a newspaper-page viewer, morning-paper article lists, and special extra editions. The homepage displays weather for Toyama and Takaoka, traffic and disaster-prevention information, and 24-hour and weekly rankings. Public-safety modules include civil protection, earthquakes, tsunami, linear rainbands, warnings, river-flood alerts, and evacuation information. Member registration and login, Webun Plus applications, and newspaper subscriptions are linked; the homepage does not establish one access rule or price for every article. It is a regional publisher's online service for following administration, community affairs, business, culture, and sports in Toyama as well as national and overseas news.
