Booklog is a Japanese reading-record and book-discovery community. Users search a book catalog and save titles to a personal online bookshelf, assigning statuses such as want to read, currently reading, owned but unread, and finished. The service supports ratings, written reviews, reading notes, reading graphs and goals, and custom shelf presentation. Readers can discover books through rankings, new-release listings, staff and user recommendations, discussion features, and reviews from other readers; following users with similar tastes can surface more titles. Author or title keywords can be registered for email alerts about new releases. The official iOS and Android apps support barcode scanning to add books and manage a bookshelf. The official Premium comparison lists basic use as free and an optional app-purchased subscription: ¥480 per month or ¥4,600 per year, with trial periods and added organization, discovery, review, notification, and ad-removal features. Premium is optional; the core catalog, shelves, reviews, and reading management remain available without it.
